Why Your Startup Isn't Growing: A Root Cause Diagnostic

Are you getting enough traffic, website visits, app downloads, or demo requests to work with?

Are visitors taking the next step by signing up, starting trials, or submitting leads?

Are those leads or signups converting into paying customers at an acceptable rate?

Are your paying customers staying with you with retention above 70 percent at 90 days?

Are retained customers expanding through upsells or referring others to your product?

Is your LTV at least 3x your CAC confirming that unit economics support scaling?

Is your product visible anywhere online through search, paid ads, or third-party mentions?

Does your value proposition communicate what you do and why someone should care within 5 seconds of landing on your page?

Is your pricing aligned with the value your customers actually perceive rather than the value you think you deliver?

Retaining customers without growing within accounts means your business is stable but flat. Build upsell tiers, referral incentives, and expansion revenue paths into the product experience. Each retained customer should drive at least 0.2 new customers through sharing or network effects.
