You cannot make a budget decision without knowing your current ratio. Add up all marketing costs including agency fees, tools, ads, and content then divide by total revenue. Industry benchmarks: 15 to 25 percent for B2B SaaS, 20 to 30 percent for D2C, and 10 to 15 percent for services businesses.

A sub-10 percent marketing budget with below-target growth is a starvation budget not a disciplined one. Increase to 15 to 20 percent of revenue, allocate it to the channel with the strongest proven ROI, and treat the increase as an investment with a defined payback period rather than a cost.

Increasing spend on a system with unpredictable pipeline, high media costs, or poor conversion rates scales the inefficiency not the results. Fix attribution, conversion rate, and channel mix first so that every additional rupee you invest goes into a system capable of compounding it.
