Video & Content Production Lead
Tool Demos | Podcast Production | YouTube Growth
Location: Pune, India (Hybrid preferred) or Remote with studio setup
Reports To: Chief Growth Officer
Team: Content & Brand
Type: Full-time
Compensation: Competitive, based on demonstrated capability and portfolio quality
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
upGrowth is building a brand that positions us as the go-to growth marketing consultancy for funded startups and as a leading voice in AI-powered marketing. We have deep expertise, proven case studies, and frameworks that work. What we don’t have is a systematic content engine that turns that expertise into visible, discoverable, trust-building content.
This role fills three critical gaps at once: product/tool demonstration videos that help clients and prospects understand what we do, a podcast that positions our founders and team as industry authorities, and a YouTube channel that becomes a compounding organic acquisition channel.
The right person isn’t just someone who can point a camera and edit in Premiere. It’s someone who understands content strategy, knows what makes a video watchable, can manage the production workflow end-to-end, and treats YouTube as a growth channel, not a content dump.
We’re not looking for a videographer. We’re looking for a one-person content production system who can own the entire pipeline from concept to published asset to performance tracking.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
1. Tool & Product Demo Videos
- Record crisp, professional screen recordings and walkthroughs of marketing tools, platforms, and AI workflows (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, HubSpot, AI tools, etc.)
- Create client onboarding videos that explain campaign setups, reporting dashboards, and deliverables
- Build a library of short-form explainer videos (under 3 minutes) for tools, features, and how-tos
- Produce comparison videos and reviews that position upGrowth as a knowledgeable, trusted voice
2. Podcast Production
- Own the end-to-end production of the upGrowth podcast: research, guest booking support, recording, editing, publishing, and distribution
- Record both in-person (Pune studio) and remote episodes with consistent audio quality
- Create show notes, timestamps, pull quotes, and social clips from each episode
- Manage podcast presence across Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and other platforms
- Track performance metrics and iterate on format, topics, and guest quality based on data
3. YouTube Channel Management
- Develop and execute a YouTube content strategy focused on growth marketing, SEO, AI in marketing, and startup growth topics
- Handle thumbnail design (or direct AI tools to create them), title optimization, and description writing following YouTube SEO best practices
- Plan and maintain a consistent publishing calendar (minimum 2 videos/week across formats)
- Analyze channel performance using YouTube Analytics: CTR, retention curves, traffic sources. Make data-driven decisions on content direction.
- Repurpose long-form content into Shorts, Reels, LinkedIn clips, and Twitter/X snippets
4. Client Case Study Videos
- Produce case study videos that tell the story of client results (e.g., Fi.Money, Scripbox, Lendingkart) in a compelling, visual format
- Create before/after narratives using data visualization, screen recordings, and talking-head segments
- Build a case study video library that the sales team can use in pitches and proposals
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Hard requirements:
- 2+ years of experience creating video content professionally (agency, brand, YouTube creator, or freelance with strong portfolio)
- Strong screen recording and tutorial video skills. You can make a Google Analytics walkthrough interesting, not mind-numbing.
- Proficiency in video editing tools: DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or Descript
- Basic audio production skills: mic setup, noise removal, level balancing, and consistent audio quality across episodes
- YouTube-native thinking. You understand thumbnails, hooks, retention, titles, and why most videos fail in the first 30 seconds.
- Self-managed production workflow. You can plan, record, edit, and publish without needing someone to project-manage you.
Strong signals:
- You run (or have run) your own YouTube channel. Even if it’s small, it shows you understand the platform from the inside.
- Experience in marketing, SaaS, or tech content (not just entertainment or vlogging)
- Comfort being on camera. Even better if you can host podcast episodes or be a secondary voice.
- Familiarity with AI video tools: Descript, Opus Clip, Vizard, ElevenLabs, HeyGen, or similar
- Understanding of SEO, digital marketing, or growth concepts (you’ll be recording content about these topics daily)
- Graphic design skills for thumbnails, lower thirds, and motion graphics
What we don’t care about:
- Fancy film school credentials. We care about output quality and consistency.
- Whether you shoot on a RED camera. Most of our content is screen recordings, talking heads, and podcast formats. A good USB mic and a clean background matter more.
YOUR TOOLKIT
- Recording: OBS, Loom, ScreenStudio, or Descript for screen capture
- Editing: DaVinci Resolve / Premiere Pro / CapCut Pro / Descript
- Audio: Audacity or Descript for podcast editing, basic mic and interface setup
- Thumbnails: Canva Pro / Figma / Photoshop
- AI tools: Opus Clip (repurposing), Descript (transcription/editing), Claude/ChatGPT (scripting and show notes)
- Publishing: YouTube Studio, Spotify for Podcasters, podcast hosting platform
- Analytics: YouTube Analytics, podcast analytics, social media metrics
HOW TO APPLY
Send us three things: (1) A link to 2-3 videos you’re most proud of (tool demos, tutorials, or podcast episodes preferred over cinematic work). (2) A rough 4-week content plan you’d execute if you started tomorrow at upGrowth. (3) A 2-minute Loom video introducing yourself. We want to see how you communicate and present on camera.
