A growth target planner calculator works out the steady growth rate you need each month or quarter to move from your current value to a target value. It uses compound growth. It also shows a projected value for each period, so you can track actual performance against the plan.
Use the compound growth formula: required growth rate = (target value ÷ current value)^(1 ÷ number of periods) − 1. For example, growing from ₹1,00,000 to ₹2,00,000 in 6 months needs (2)^(1 ÷ 6) − 1, which is about 12.25% growth every month.
Each period’s growth builds on the previous period’s higher base. Doubling in 6 months is 100% total growth, but you do not need 16.7% a month to get there. Compounding at about 12.25% a month is enough. Simple division overstates the effort needed.
Yes. The result is a rate per period, so enter months for a monthly rate or quarters for a quarterly rate. To convert a monthly rate to a quarterly one, use (1 + monthly rate)³ − 1. For example, 12.25% a month equals about 41.4% a quarter.
Compare the required rate with your actual month-on-month growth over the last few periods. If the gap is large, extend the timeline or lower the target. For example, doubling in 12 months needs about 5.9% monthly growth, compared with about 12.25% when doubling in 6 months.
